Cataract Surgery
Cataract, are an eye condition that occurs when the lens of the eye loses its transparency and seriously affects vision. If left untreated, they can progress and lead to vision loss. At MegaGöz, we treat cataracts using the latest surgical techniques, restoring clear vision to our patients.
How is Cataract Surgery Performed?
The only effective treatment for cataracts is surgery. This surgery is performed in a sterile operating room using an operating microscope and state-of-the-art technology. During the procedure, the cloudy natural lens is removed and replaced with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL).
The surgery typically takes between 10 and 30 minutes. This time may vary depending on the severity of the cataract and the type of lens used.

Anesthesia Process
Topical anesthesia (eye drops) is usually used during cataract surgery. In some cases, sedation (a light sleep state) may be preferred to increase patient comfort. With these methods, the patient feels no pain or discomfort during the procedure; they may only notice light touches.
The patient's vital signs, such as pulse and blood pressure, are continuously monitored throughout the surgery. The type of anesthesia is determined by the patient's general health and the doctor's judgment.

Why You Shouldn't Postpone Cataract Surgery
Cataracts are a disease that progresses and hardens over time. Delaying surgery can make cataract removal more difficult and increase the risk of complications. Therefore, early diagnosis and prompt surgical intervention increase treatment success and shorten the recovery period.
