Frequently asked questions?
What is eyelid aesthetics (blepharoplasty)?
Eyelid aesthetics, scientifically known as blepharoplasty, is the surgical correction of symptoms such as sagging, bagging, increased wrinkles, drooping upper and lower eyelids, bags and lines on the lower lids, which usually occur due to aging.
Who can undergo eyelid aesthetics (blepharoplasty)?
It is applied to anyone who has sagging in the lower and upper eyelids due to aging, or who has sagging in the eye area due to genetic reasons or trauma such as those experienced as a result of accidents.
How is eyelid aesthetics (blepharoplasty) performed?
Before eyelid surgery, the patient is evaluated. For upper eyelid blepharoplasty, preoperative drawings and measurements are made along the natural curves of the eye. The incisions are made using a scalpel, a thermal incision device called a cautery, or specialized laser technology. Lower eyelid surgery can be performed from the lower eyelash line or the inner eyelid using a transconjunctival procedure.
